Tamudo send the ball to the same place and Cesar saved again. incredibile!, because he is usually reliable from the spot.
The goal arrived three minuts before the break, Dani Garcia crossed from the right and Maxi followed up a Tamudo header which was blocked by Cesar to score from the rebound.
At the second half the visitors had also an opportunity to draw the match when Ronaldo was clipped in the penalty area by Ibarra, but his spot kick was saved with Charles Kameni diving full length.

Deportivo needed a late Walter Pandiani header
to claim a 1-1 draw with 10-man Espanyol
Under new coach Miguel Angel Lotina Espanyol made a solid start to the new Primera Liga season with a fighting draw with Deportivo that finished third last season and also reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.
In the 23rd minute Raul Tamudo tucked in a penalty after being brought down by goalkeeper Jose Molina.
Deportivo did their best to hit back and five minutes before the interval Juan Carlos Valeron found Luque whose shot was well saved by Kameni. Two minutes later playmaker Valeron found Pandiani whose header was ALSO well saved by Kameni, and a minute later Espanyol could have made it 2-0 when Ivan de la Pena's cross was headed by Maxi Rodriguez but Molina made an accomplished save.
After the interval, Espanyol started brightly and a clever pass from Oscar Serrano found Tamudo who drove the ball goalwards with his right foot only for Molina to gather.
Ivan de la Pena had sent off with over half an hour to go, after being booked only minutes before, De la Pena was shown a second yellow card and dismissed on 58 minutes for protesting too demonstrably. The officiating referee reported that De la Pena was sent-off for 'protesting by grabbing his testicles'.
In the 70rd minute the goalkeeper Kameni was knocked out and was substituted by the 18-year-old BIEL Ribas.
After 74 minutes Sergio fired in a free-kick but his shot was blocked. Two minutes later Tamudo set up Maxi Rodriguez whose right-footed shot was saved by Molina and in the 78rd minute Pedro Munitis delivered a perfect cross and Pandiani's bullet header found the mark.
